What Is Your Love Language!?

Before I write this whole thing I think Valentines day means more to me now than it has in the past because the last card I ever received from my grandfather was a Valentines day card. Of course I still have it and I will always keep it. I miss him more each and every day. He always made me feel loved!  I would say my love language is gifts. While I absolutely love to receive them I truly enjoy giving them as well.  Sometimes it’s super hard when you get excited about the gift you sent someone if they live out of state and you don’t get any kind of acknowledgement to even let you know they received it. It’s also hard when you don’t see pictures of them with their gift even if you were given a list to choose from but sometimes you feel that their list of stuff gets repeatedly gifted so you decide to just gift something completely not listed. Even if you ask if they received it you may or may not get an answer. If you do get a response then it will be generic as if you are bothe...

Grief ( Holiday Edition )

When you lose a loved one whether it be a parent, a pet or just about anyone no one can really prepare you for how to grieve because everyone’s journey with grief is so different. Some grieve longer than others but grief is something that is always going to be with us and everyone handles it differently. During the holidays can be especially tough no matter how long it has been since they have been gone. For me personally this is my second Christmas without my grandfather and I will be honest it’s harder this year than it was my first. I think it just had not been long enough to truly hit me. I also was so numb from the pain that I didn’t know but this year has hit me so hard. It’s very difficult seeing a Christmas card from my grandmother and not seeing his name on it. It’s so hard to shop and see something that I know he would absolutely love but not be able to buy it for him. As I see gifts under my tree I just can’t help but be heartbroken that there is none for him under ther...

Just Five More Minutes

I don’t know about you but I am obsessed with Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas ones! Last year they made one called Five More Minutes. It was inspired by the song by Scotty McCreery called Five More Minutes. I had seen the commercials for it and it even had one of my favorite actresses in it but I could not bring myself to watch it because the pain of losing my grandfather months earlier the day after my birthday  was still very fresh. It’s very painful every single day.  I know it may seem silly to some people but I can’t help how I feel. Well fast forward to last night I had the Hallmark channel on and it came on. I ended up watching the whole entire thing. While I did tear up quite a bit, it ended up being such a great movie. I really wasn’t sure if I was even ready yet because I miss him terribly! I truly believe I was meant to see this movie. I literally would do anything in this whole entire world to have just five more minutes with him but then I think ab...

Book Review ( Oceans World )

Awhile back I was on the launch team for Carlos & Alexa Penavega’s book called What If Love Is The Point? Well now I’m on the launch team for their new children’s book called Ocean’s World : An Island Tale of Discovery and Adventure. While I do not have children of my own I am an aunt to four beautiful and wonderful children. I read the book and it is incredibly adorable. It has phenomenal illustrations with such amazing colors. It includes Hawaiian words which I think is super cool because while  it’s a super cute and fun book it is also educational. I also think it’s cool for any child who was born in Hawaii or even anywhere not too far from the beach.  I truly think as children have this read to them or read it themselves it will spark their imagination like childrens books should. I believe it will encourage them to go on their own adventure wherever they live and want to play outside. In today’s world we see a lot of children who are playing on tablets or some o...

One Year Without You πŸ’”

One year ago today the world lost a phenomenal man and that man was my grandfather. He was the absolute best grandfather a girl could ever ask for. He truly never met a stranger and he rarely went places where he didn’t at least see five or usually more  people he knew. He had the best stories especially from when he worked at Avon. He definitely was the type to do anything he could for anybody. I miss his hugs. I miss the way he always smelled so good. He was so incredibly handsome and he had the best sense of humor. He loved to attempt to tell a joke but he always tried his best. I still have the very last Valentine’s Day card he sent me and I will always keep it. Everyone always loved him. He enjoyed tomatoes fresh from the garden and it’s so hard knowing I can’t take him one. It was one of top favorite things to eat. He couldn’t stand macaroni and cheese so I sure enjoyed teasing him about bringing him some. Of course he always politely declined. I have so many amazing stories ...

Celebrating When You Don’t Want To

Today is my 26th birthday. As it got closer to this day I realized I wasn’t exactly in a big celebration mood like I have been in the past due to last year’s terrible situation going on at this time. I have a favorite bakery and had gotten a price quote on a design I wanted but I didn’t end up ordering it. I honestly just wanted to not celebrate. My wonderful mom ended up surprising me with a beautiful cake from my favorite bakery. I put on my favorite floral dress that just makes me channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw. This is my first birthday without my grandfather so it just was hard. My grandmother gave me a beautiful birthday card and it was so hard not to break out into tears when I only seen her name. Every year he would call me and sing happy birthday. The last time that happened was in 2020 but oh what I would do to hear him sing it to me just one more time. As emotional as I am on my birthday this year it turned out to be pretty good. My mom gifted me a really nice towel warmer...

Our Darling Camille

I remember staying with family and we happened to pass a sign that said free puppies although puppies are never technically free. We went to look at them and we only seen a beautiful beagle that had recently given birth. We waited for a little bit then several puppies emerged. They were all black and brown colored but then one white little angel came out. She was the last one and she was so stunning. She was the only girl and so her brothers paved a way for her. She was also so tiny. When I seen her they thought I was going to pass out because I was just so excited. We took her back with us and put her in a cage for the night. The next morning I got her out to play and she dragged a big blanket across the floor. From that moment on I knew she was going to be a mighty strong little thing. When I took her home later that day my mom absolutely fell in love with her even though she wasn’t expecting a new puppy. I didn’t really have permission but I like to say it’s better to ask for ...
