Our Darling Camille
I remember staying with family and we happened to pass a sign that said free puppies although puppies are never technically free. We went to look at them and we only seen a beautiful beagle that had recently given birth. We waited for a little bit then several puppies emerged. They were all black and brown colored but then one white little angel came out. She was the last one and she was so stunning. She was the only girl and so her brothers paved a way for her. She was also so tiny. When I seen her they thought I was going to pass out because I was just so excited. We took her back with us and put her in a cage for the night. The next morning I got her out to play and she dragged a big blanket across the floor. From that moment on I knew she was going to be a mighty strong little thing. When I took her home later that day my mom absolutely fell in love with her even though she wasn’t expecting a new puppy. I didn’t really have permission but I like to say it’s better to ask for forgiveness than it is permission in some cases. I just knew I had to have her. I had a little carrier for her so we took her just about everywhere with us. When we took her to the vet she weighed at most a few ounces and fit in the palm of our hands. I couldn’t have gotten her much sooner because she was barely five weeks old! We had lots of offers for her but of course we said no. She eventually grew to her full size and she had the longest legs. She had beige spots and one of them was shaped exactly like a heart. Our other two dogs we had at the time loved her especially our beagle. They would chase bunnies in the backyard and all over the neighborhood. They would always get out of the backyard so we would have to go find them. She loved to get under the barn to try to get a bunny. Her and our beagle Weenie were professionals. She would come to the back door with her legs covered in mud. That was one of her favorite things! She was sassy, feisty and absolutely stunning. She could run and chase a ball like no other. She was the best and not too many bunnies got past her. She captured our hearts from the moment I met her and brought her home. Her personality was the best. She loved turkey, chicken and salmon. I think she loved turkey so much because she was born during turkey season in April. Yes our dogs are quite spoiled but they deserve to be. Everything she did was cute. She slept with her ball like it was her baby. She loved her toy moose and hedgehogs. We could not resist that face so she usually got just about everything she ever wanted. She was the best dog, our best friend, Weenie’s girlfriend and the owner of our hearts. They loved each other so much. It was three months ago today that she unfortunately left us. I know you will be waiting by the rainbow bridge one day. Thank you Camille Louise for 14 long phenomenal years with you but it sure wasn’t enough. 2008 - 2022
